Trinity Youth in the "Fast Lane"

April 20, 2008 -- Trinity youth spent much of this weekend in the "fast lane." They fasted for 30 hours as participants in the World Vision 30-Hour famine. The 30-Hour Famine is an international youth movement to fight hunger.

The youth took pledges, raising money that will go to World Vision to fight world hunger. The youth also canvassed the neighborhood to collect canned food for the food bank.

One of the activites during the 30 hours was to build shelters from cardboard. The youth were divided into teams, and to make the task more challenging, each member was given a handicap, such as having to wear a backpack or having arm tied. The youth had to work together as a team to overcome their individual handicaps to accomplish the task.

Preschool - 5th Grade Sunday School is Sunday at 9:30 am.

Middle School/Junior High Youth Group meets every Wednesday at 6 pm.

Senior High Youth Group meets every Tuesday at 6:30 pm.

Youth Breakfast Club is Sunday at 10:30 am.

"This Way to Heaven" youth band practices every Tuesday
at 5 pm and every Wednesday at 4 pm.

College Life Group meets every Thursday at 8 pm.

Archeologists Unearth Mysterious
Creature at Santa Cruz Beach

Youth at beach

April 12, 2008 -- Actually, never mind. It wasn't a creature and it wasn't so mysterious. It was the Trinity youth who spent the day at Santa Cruz beach and buried one of it's finest members, Kyle Wyss, in the sand.

The group enjoyed a fun afternoon in the sun, as well as a bonfire in the evening.

Youth Tour Agilent Technologies

About twenty members of the Senior High Youth Group toured Agilent Technologies at a youth group meeting in March.

Trinity member and Agilent employee Dr. Gregory VanWiggeren, second from left above, gave a presentation about the company, talked about being both a scientist and a Christian, and discussed whether we must choose between God and science.

He summarized two current world views. One view is that physics governs the universe, life is meaningless and without hope, and death is the end. The other is that the universe was created by God and that evolution is the mechanism God used to create us. Science attempts to describe the universe, but there is more to the universe than we can perceive. In this view, life has meaning and death is not the end.

Hungry Youth Prepare Meals for Homeless and Serve Watoto Singers

In February, Trinity youth participated in the World Vision 30-hour famine. By going without food for 30 hours, Trinity youth gained a deeper understanding of needs in the world and raised money for needy children.

But they went beyond that. During the 30 hours, the youth volunteered at Innvision, preparing meals for the homeless.

And before the end of the 30 hours, they also served dinner to the Watoto Children's Choir from Uganda, Africa.

Check out the Watoto youth photo album for more pictures of the Watoto dinner.

Trinity Youth Hit the Slopes

The Trinity Youth Group hit the slopes in January on their annual ski trip. (Some hit the slopes a little harder than others.)

This trip was a fun getaway to enjoy skiing, snowboarding, and playing in the snow.

While the ski lift provided the physical boost needed for fun on the slopes, evening Bible study provided the spiritual lift that will last a lifetime.

Be sure to visit the 2007 ski trip photo album for more pictures from the trip!
