Trinity Small Groups

Small
groups provide a unique opportunity for fellowship at Trinity. Some
groups are centered around a special interest, such as travel or
genealogy, and some are centered around service or Bible study. This
page provides basic information about the following small groups:
|
Bible Study Groups
Trinity offers two men's Bible study groups and two
women's Bible study groups:
- The Men's Mid-Week Bible Study Group
meets every Thursday at 9:30 am in the library (room 2) for fellowship
and Bible study (along with coffee and doughnuts). The group uses the
PC(USA) Men's Ministries series of Bible Studies, which can be found
online at http://www.pcusa.org/men/biblestudy.htm.
The group has lessons from both the Old and New Testament.
- The Friday Morning Men's Bible Study Group
meets every Friday at 7 am at John's Xlnt Foods, 1238 Lincoln Ave, San
Jose, for Bible study, fellowship, and prayer.
- The Women's Mid-Week Bible Study Group
meets every Wednesday at 10 am in the library (room 2) for fellowship,
Bible study, and prayer. The group is very casual and takes things slow
and easy.
- The Single Women's Bible Study Group
is intended for single women, 50 years and over, and meets on the
second and fourth Wednesdays of each month at 10 am.
All
of these Bible study groups welcome new participants, and you don't
have to be a Trinity member to participate. For more information,
contact Trinity at the phone number or email address above.

Lunch Bunch
The Lunch Bunch offers fellowship and friendship for
Trinity members and guests.
The
group meets for lunch on the first Thursday of most months.
Sometimes the group meets in Fellowship Hall at Trinity for a potluck,
and sometimes the group will go to an interesting place, such as a
museum or on tour.
If you're interested in
participating in this group, please provide advanced notice so that the
group can make appropriate reservations. Please contact Trinity at the
phone number or email above.

Marthas
The
Marthas is a group that seeks out and lends a helping hand to those in
need. One of their major projects is the Christmas shoebox project. The
Marthas collect, assemble, and send shoeboxes of gifts to children
abroad who are in need. They also make and deliver Christmas gift bags
for those in our parish who are unable to get out.
The Marthas have sponsored ice cream socials to benefit
the Trinity youth group, and has organized a tea for the ladies.
The
Marthas meet on the second Tuesday of the month at 10 am in the library
(room 2). The group invites new members to join, and also welcomes
input and new ideas. If you are interested, contact Trinity at the
phone number or email above.

Roots
Have
you ever thought about researching your family tree but were not sure
how to get started? Or perhaps you are already active with genealogy.
In either case, the Roots Group might be for you.
Participating
in this group offers a chance to interact with others who are
interested in family-history research and discussion of genealogical
topics. The group invites new members to join them. If you are
interested, contact Trinity at the phone number or email above.
The Roots Group meets the first Tuesday of each month at
7:30 pm in the library (room 2).

Trinity Travelers
The
Trinity Travel Group meets on the fourth Friday of each month at 7:30
pm in the library to share travel experiences and fellowship. The group
offers a chance to hear about and see pictures of places you might like
to go.
Each meeting has a theme, usually a
country or region. The group focuses mostly on foreign travel,
but some domestic adventures are included.
Meetings
typically involve one or two couples or individuals sharing the
presentation of their visits to a common country or region.
Presentations sometimes include a digital presentation of pictures, and
there is usually a table for other treasures brought back from the
trips.
In general, the group does not travel as a
group, but each spring the group does take a day trip as a group. Twice
a year, in the spring and fall, the group has a wine tasting party at
one of the members homes. This is a very popular event, usually a full
house!
Anyone who is interested in the evening topic
is welcome to come join in the fellowship. It is the type of
evening that is comfortable to invite friends to, or for visitors to
the church to come get acquainted with others in the church.
See the Trinity Traveler's
page for information about current and planned events, and see
their photo album for photos from past
meetings. For more information, contact Trinity at the phone number or
email address above.

Young Couples
The
Young Couples Group consists of young(ish) couples, both with and
without children, and enjoys monthly get-togethers outside of regular
church services.
Past activities have included
picnics, pizza nights, and pool parties. On Sunday mornings, members
can be found serving in many capacities around the church and catching
up on the patio after worship.
The group would be
delighted to add to its membership, so if you'd like to participate,
contact Trinity at the phone number or email above.
