Our Purpose
Our purpose is to PROCLAIM the gospel as
the good news of God's love and invite others to join us as we
CELEBRATE God's love for us through worship; DEMONSTRATE God's love by
caring for and meeting the needs of people in the name of Jesus;
INTERACT with one another as family members of the body of Christ; and
NURTURE each one as we learn and grow toward maturity in Christ, so
that we each then boldly proclaim His love and invite others join us in
Christ.
Come celebrate God's love with us!

Worship
Worship Service is at 9:30 am
Children's Church is at 9:30 am
Youth Breakfast Club is at 10:50 am
Every Sunday, we worship through traditional and
contemporary music, through Scripture, and through prayer. Worship at
Trinity is done with creativity, innovation, freedom, and a touch of
Silicon Valley technology.
Our sanctuary is equipped to incorporate electronic
slide presentations and video clips into the service, providing a
richer worship experience. For example, with lyrics of hymns projected
on the screen.
At Trinity worship service, our leaders are the
prompters; the congregation are the performers; but God is the
audience. After worship, there is time for fellowship on the patio and
in the rose garden.
We invite you to worship with us this Sunday!

Rev. Lyle Schmidt
Just a little about me so you’ll
understand some of my humor and sermon illustrations: I was born and
raised in California, growing up in the rural area around Fresno
on a small ranch we affectionately called “the farm”. My
family moved
to the bay area in the mid 60’s and I’ve loved this area
ever since. I
felt God’s calling on my life from a very young age, asking Jesus
to be
my Lord and Savior while in grade school.

At the time we attended a
Mennonite church in Reedley
CA.
During my college days, I worked with a campus witnessing organization
and began to prepare for attending seminary. I was ordained in the San Francisco Presbytery
in 1980 after graduating from Fuller Seminary in Pasadena. I then
served as Associate Pastor at Presbyterian Church of the Master in
Mission Viejo CA. I have been a member of the San Jose Presbytery since 1989 serving as
Parish Associate at the Mountain
View and Los Altos churches.
During this time I was
managing my family’s commercial HVAC business. I have served the
Presbytery as Interim Pastor at the Felton Presbyterian Church,
as temporary Stated Supply at the First Church San Jose while the pastor was on leave. I
have also served as Interim Pastor in Monterey at El Estero Presbyterian Church,
the oldest Asian congregation in the Presbytery, and a one year term as
Supply Pastor/Head of Staff at First Presbyterian Church
of Hollister while their pastor, David Rodriguez, was on leave serving
as a military chaplain stationed in Iraq. I come to you from West Valley Presbyterian
Church
where I just completed a similar transition with them. I also serve on
a variety of task forces, committees and commissions within the San
Jose Presbytery, most recently working on the General Assembly COLA
(Committee On Local Arrangements) where I worked on four different
special events.
My hobbies include, reading, stunt kite
flying, woodworking, gardening and home improvement projectes, which
never seem to diminish in number or scope. I love to do a lot of
different things and find great joy in trying new and different
experiences. I find learning new things challenging and fun.
Peggy and I have been married for 34 years. She is Controller at I
Squared, a manufacture’s rep. company in San Jose. We have two
adult
sons, Matthew and Daniel who is married to Michelle and lives in Anaheim. We look
forward to being involved in the life and ministry of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
In Christ’s service, Lyle Schmidt
